As well as reading the reviews, we encourage you to do some physical research, by coming in to our store to test ride any of our electric bicycles. It’s difficult to get the feel of an electric bike while trawling the Internet and every electric bicycle brand and even individual model rides very differently.
While we believe it is important to test ride a bike before purchasing if this is impractical, we will happily qualify, and justify the most appropriate bike based on our knowledge and your requirements: After all, no two people are alike.
We do not have a “buy now” button on any of our bikes, as we want you to test ride first or at least talk to us on the phone. By not offering a “buy now” option, we’re standing by our principles and our aim of 100% of customers being satisfied.
We regularly get e-bike riders either phoning or coming in for advice because they’ve either been poorly matched to a bike at another store (often interstate or online) or encouraged to purchase a poorly made bike… Unfortunately, the answer is, generally, not much can be done. These people tend to be some of our best new customers as they are wiser for the experience. The adage, you get what you pay for is no truer than with electric bicycles.

I wanted an Orbea MTB but not sure which model. Baron showed me options and I took a test ride on a Rise M20 but preferred an M10. It was in the warehouse so Baron said they would build it for me to pick up that afternoon. I got a call from Nathan at 3pm and collected it about 4pm after checking the fitting and having a test ride. I’ve had it now for a week and love it. Thanks again Baron and Nathan.

Not the largest shop but it packs a punch with service, knowledge and range. If you’re new to the idea of an E-Bike stay here and you’ll have a fabulous experience. High standard and quality comes to mind when I think of the Shop and worth every penny. I could get my bike serviced closer but I know the importance of having the right people surrounding you. My partner bought a Kalkhof electric bike from Melbourne Electric Bicycles and couldn’t have been happier with her purchase,the endeavour has proved to be super comfortable and certainly great quality,we had bought our first electric bikes as many do,at entry level,price and quality were what you expect I guess,pretty ordinary at best,so the upgrade to Kalkhof was clearly a vast improvement.So! I went into the store and spoke to Baron about my preferences and riding style,and after sitting on a few and doing a bit of goldilocks on the choices,found the perfect fit for me,also a fantastic Kalkhof bike,I collected it today from the store in StKilda and rode it home to Sandringham,I couldn’t be happier with my purchase ,no sore hands or shoulders like on my cheapy,I love the huge difference the quality makes,smooth gears,great comfortable frame geometry,just feels right for me,I love it.

I could test ride the bikes I was interested in, and my final purchase was at a very good price and ready for pick up within a few days. We were walk in customers and were given terrific service and a competitive price on some Haibikes. It took us a bit of time, and test rides to determine the correct choice but we found Melbourne Electric Bicycles to be full of good advice and took the time necessary to help us with our choice.
